Dorset Roving - 4oz/114g - Spring Growth
This is 3 separate colors. A a brilliant neon chartreuse, a deep teal, and a deep cobalt. Will make a tweedy yarn if spun together, or can be used for stripes or colorwork if separated. Later images are singles, plied yarn, and a knit sample spun as a 3-ply.
Dorset: A downs breed, very difficult to felt, with great memory (it doesn’t crease or compress easily) with high loft and good stitch definition. Not merino soft, and can be variable, soft Dorset is comparable to a mid Corriedale, coarse Dorset to a heavy Border Leicester. Very durable. Not scratchy, low lustre. I consider a soft Dorset to be an excellent fiber for long wearing socks. This particular dorset comes from happy Mid Atlantic sheep and is definitely on the soft end.
